“Once Upon a Blue Moon” by Rick Halloran
Rick worked with Marva to write a song for Uke and Joanne’s wedding. We invited Uke, Ansgar and Michelle over to dinner and afterwards Uke and Marva worked a little bit on the song. Uke wanted to capo up to suit a ukulele and Marva had worked out some harmonies, so they wanted to try it out.
I took advantage of their practice to do some practicing of my own with my 5DMK2 in video mode, working with a Rode Video Mic Pro. I hadn’t intended to even record the whole song; I was just tinkering with different audio settings, focus, zoom, etc.
Anyway, the song’s so beautiful we thought it would be nice to share the parts I did capture.
